Davis L. Moore, CPT

Davis L. Moore grew up in a musical home in Greenwood, SC and always had an interest in music. At the age of 3, he made his first appearance singing at a church. At the age of 5, he began studying cello under Dr. Richard Thomas, and by the age of 8, he joined the Carolina Youth Symphony. As he continued his musical career, he was able to play with many different ensembles in venues such as the Peace Center in Greenville, SC, and Carnegie Hall, NYC.

By age 16, he was interested in opera and began to study with Lucie Svatonova Hughes. This led him to sing with groups such as the St. John’s Choral Scholars and the Cairn University Chorale.

While in college, he studied vocal performance under Stephen Condy and performed selections from The Barber of Seville, Handel’s Messiah, Quilter’s Shakespearean Songs, and Rossini’s Petite messe solennelle. In 2023, he also performed the tenor aria in Britten’s Rejoice in the Lamb Cantata at 10th Presbyterian Church in Philadelphia. He was Jack in the musical Into the Woods in 2024.

During the Summer of 2024, Davis worked as an organ technician alongside Steven Emery, who is known as one of the greatest organ voicers/tuners in the country. Davis worked on organs such as Church of the Holy Trinity Episcopal in Philadelphia, Holy Redeemer in Bryn Mawr, PA, and The Wanamaker Grand Court Organ, located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, which is the largest fully functioning pipe organ in the world.

He later began to study piano technology and is now a Certified Piano Technician through Piano Technician Academy. He received his Certificate in Piano Technology in September of 2024.

Recently, Davis has studied conducting with Steve Skinner (director of First Presbyterian Church in Greenwood).

In April of 2026, he became a Certified Installer of Piano Life Saver, which is a specialized system to maintain humidity levels in pianos.

He now works full-time as a piano technician and tuner, is an active member of the Piano Technicians Guild, and serves as the Music Director Assistant at Greenwood Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church.
