Davis Moore grew up in Greenwood, SC performing from an early age — joining the Carolina Youth Symphony at 8 and eventually performing at the Peace Center in Greenville and Carnegie Hall in New York City. In 2024 he trained as an organ technician under Steven Emery, working on pipe organs across Philadelphia including the Wanamaker Grand Court Organ — the largest fully functioning pipe organ in the world. He earned his Certificate in Piano Technology that same year and now works full-time as a Certified Piano Technician serving all of Upstate SC. He lives in Greenwood with his wife, Romilly.

to concert hall.
First stage appearance
Made his first public appearance singing at a church in Greenwood, SC — the beginning of a performance career that would span two decades.
Cello studies begin
Began studying cello under Dr. Richard Thomas, developing foundational musicianship and ear training that would inform everything that followed.
Carolina Youth Symphony
Joined the Carolina Youth Symphony, performing in venues including the Peace Center in Greenville, SC and Carnegie Hall, New York City.
Opera studies
Began studying opera with Lucie Svatonova Hughes. Sang with the St. John's Choral Scholars and the Cairn University Chorale.
Vocal performance & opera
Studied under Stephen Condy. Performed Rossini, Handel's Messiah, Quilter's Shakespearean Songs, and Rossini's Petite messe solennelle. Sang the tenor aria in Britten's Rejoice in the Lamb Cantata at 10th Presbyterian Church, Philadelphia. Played Jack in Into the Woods (2024).
Organ technician apprenticeship
Worked alongside Steven Emery — widely regarded as one of the greatest organ voicers and tuners in the country — servicing organs throughout Philadelphia and the surrounding region, including the Wanamaker Grand Court Organ.
Certified Piano Technician (CPT)
Completed the Certificate in Piano Technology through Piano Technician Academy and earned the Certified Piano Technician designation. Began practicing full-time as a piano technician and tuner.
Certified Piano Life Saver Installer
Became a Certified Installer of Piano Life Saver — a specialized Dampp-Chaser certification for installing and maintaining internal humidity control systems in acoustic pianos.

In the summer of 2024, Davis spent a summer working alongside Steven Emery — known as one of the greatest organ voicers and tuners in the country — servicing historic pipe organs throughout the Philadelphia region.
The centerpiece of that experience was the Wanamaker Grand Court Organ in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania: the largest fully functioning pipe organ in the world, with nearly 30,000 pipes spanning seven stories inside Macy's former flagship store.
That level of mechanical complexity and acoustic precision carries directly into Davis's approach to piano technology — the attention to detail, the listening, and the patience required to work on instruments of this scale.
